“Once the wood was all delivered you were done and it was easy to see the progress and gain a sense of accomplishment. That is the real beauty of manual labor — you have a job to do for the day and when it is done, so are you.”

Current dream job - delivering firewood.  Or something like it.

Lessons in procrastination (part 2).Create a new cross stitch pattern. Execute pattern while drinking a seven and seven (call it making Christmas gifts, so it sounds productive). Thus successfully avoiding that which you dread.

Lessons in procrastination.Rifle through your closet (but call it cleaning or organizing, so it sounds productive) and find an old band t-shirt that you had completely forgotten about. Rock out to that band.  Thus successfully avoiding that which you dread.

thoughts on Mucca Pazza

On seeing them for the first time, last year, at the Hide Out Block Party: “Are they going to play a song or are they just going to dick around.”

And last night, after Kate told me she accidentally agreed to go to one of their shows: “I mean, I love marching bands, and I love band music, but I don’t like Mucca Pazza.  At.  All.”
(Not an exact quote, my explanation for my poor memory.)

Step by step instructions for how to get the perfectly messy bun.  I can’t wait for my hair to be long enough for this.
(Also, hair-related, remind me never to get bangs again.  I always think that I want them until I actually have them.  Then I remember why I grew them out.)
