I think that experiencing the Mummers Parade should be on everyone’s bucket list. (Or at the very least you should watch Strut!, though I am certain it does not even come close to being there in person.) I can not accurately describe it, though I’ve tried many times. But do know this - after living in Philadelphia for seven years, January 1st is no longer called New Year’s Day. It’s Mummer Day. And the parade isn’t even the best part, it’s the walk back down Two Street after they march/strut when thing really start to happen.
