Despite the length and content of most of this list, I was not drunk the entire time. I also had the sicilian pizza from FrancoLuigi’s (the best ever), played Catch Phrase! so hard that we broke the game, saw my friend’s dream catcher wall (this friend), walked all over the city, pretended it was the middle of summer (90° in Philly yesterday), and even found some time to go on a job interview. I’d call it a rousing success.

excellent weekend, pt 1.*

Friday night:

Nails painted.**
Dinner and a movie (True Grit) with a good friend. 

Go to bed at a reasonable hour. Getting eight hours of sleep is so fun! And cool!

Saturday Morning: 

Get up early and go for a run. It’s snowing and that’s pretty. Most of the city is still sleeping.

Shower. Make coffee.

Make pancakes from “just add water” pancake mix. Add vanilla extract and oatmeal. It makes them fancy and extra-good.

Prepare one egg. The first time I’ve successfully made one over easy. Hurrah! I forgot to photograph it, I was so excited. This is what it looked like before.

Sit down to breakfast with a good book.

After breakfast, wash the dishes (because I’m a responsible adult). While cleaning up find out that the littlest, Dommel decided to show his precious face today at 10:41am. Can’t wait to meet you, Emry Jack Josiah!

And all of this before noon on Saturday.

**Someone asked where the nail polish is from. I got it from Charlotte Russe, but I’m not sure what the color is called, and I can’t find it on their website anymore.

lazy sunday

Meandering bike ride to the grocery store to buy ingredients for:

French press coffee in my “DEBBIE” mug.

Making muffins from scratch for the very first time.  Naomi’s Quinoa Muffin recipe found on 3191 Miles Apart.  (Muffins are so easy to make.  You should try it.)

The finished product.  I think they’re pretty great.  And C gave them a thumbs up as well.

I also made this recipe for bulgur veggie burgers.  They are quite crumbly, even though I added an egg to try to bind them, but still good.

Now I’m going to watch the Parks and Recreation from Thursday, and consider doing a little studying.
